Sleepcare / Vitalcare was developed to help care staff monitor, measure, and report resident health data in real time. The platform aimed to reduce stress for care staff, optimize medical resource allocation, and improve overall quality of care and risk management.
Whether supporting families monitoring loved ones remotely or healthcare communities managing large facilities, the product was designed to be adaptable, secure, and compliant with healthcare regulations.

Key Takeaways
This project demonstrated the importance of designing health tech with empathy, cultural adaptability, and strict compliance in mind. By balancing caregiver usability with medical accuracy, the platform was able to bridge gaps between patients/residents, care staff, and healthcare systems.
Where is this project now?
The company made a strategic decision to refocus its business priorities away from continued software development to senior care home operations. The work completed during this project continues to inform the organization’s broader approach to healthcare innovation, operational strategy, and care-focused solutions. The experience reinforced the importance of adaptable, human-centred design—especially in healthcare—where external forces, regulatory shifts, and global events can rapidly reshape product direction.
